I took my semi truck in to fix a cracked frame. They provided me with phenomenal service. The job was completed in the time the stated, and they charged me a very good price. Overall, terrific service, and I have already recommended them to four people since picking up my truck last week.

We had an urgent need to fix a rod that was an important part to equipment in our medical office. I called, they said to bring it down. I walked out of there after 5 minutes with it completely fixed!

I tow an enclosed trailer behind my motorhome, I am an out-of-towner passing through. Called Blackburn for a quick job, they sent a mobile welder, while it was not exactly what I had described it seems to be holding just fine, paid $95 for the hour and was a decently happy customer.A few days later I found that I needed a new weld on my trailer axle (I don’t know too much of the technical specs) with reinforcement on both sides in the space between the tires and my dad said the trailer would not make it further up the road. We called ahead and pulled in, was told the issue most likely occurred due to too much weight in the rear of the trailer and the 2 guys that came out didn’t really have anything to say about a plan or what they recommend, but they said they would do what they can. I asked for a quote and I was told appx. 8 hours at $95/hr. I had budgeted between $500-700 for this job but decided the extra $100 or so was worth the urgency of the situation. I left the business with confidence and went on with my day. Got a call an hour or so later asking what was inside as they were having trouble lifting it. We mentioned we carry paper products for a crafting business and offered to bring a jack by that we use but they declined. The gentleman also offered to clean up a tire grease mess (fishing for more to add to the bill is what it sounded like) but I declined. The next day we were told to pick up at closing time. I walked the trailer quickly before going in just to see where the work was done. Now I don’t know much about welding but I did notice that there was new welding on one side but not both sides of the axle, no major deal maybe just a miscommunication.Went in to pay and the only person there was the front desk gal, she was friendly and all but when she told me I owed over $2,000 for my job my jaw fell to the floor. I was shocked…surely there was an error somewhere with these numbers…I asked for clarification but she then acted like she has no idea what goes on at that business, flipped through the pages of the folder and read the technical notes but nothing to show a price breakdown. I mentioned the quote I was given and she told me everyone has gone home (as if you can’t call someone on the phone to discuss a price change) so theres nothing she can do but call the foreman who was outside moving cars. Makes me think they told us to show up at closing on purpose. While waiting, the gal continued to flip through the printed pictures in the folder and we start seeing photos of inner tire components which was a bit confusing. For such a weld, to get access to the area necessary it would make sense to me to only need to take the tires off, but it is photographed that they additionally pulled pins and took off additional components which seemed quite odd.The foreman came in and again I explained what I was told by the welders who quoted my job. He began to describe what was done for the job and additional welding items they took upon themselves to do outside the scope of the project and billed me for it (all to my advantage of course was the reason). In addition, the foreman says to get the job done quick like I needed he put two men on the job which doubles the hours and the individual that quoted me was new and should not have given me that kind of price, a price that got me in the door. Did anyone ask me to approve additional welding items? No. Would I have said yes to the additional welding knowing how much more it would cost me? No. My dad was eventually able to negotiate the total down to $1300 but I still paid above budget and way above quote. This felt like a bait and switch business based on other reviews I am now seeing on google.After paying, we went out to hitch up the trailer (at the same time the two employees left for the day) and started to crank the tongue jack up but it was not budging, used wd-40 and tried to crank then the handle snapped off. A handle and crank that worked just fine the day before. After much frustration (about half an hour later) of not getting anywhere with the crank we pulled it out of the hole. I used a separate jack to hitch up and went to lock with my tongue lock but that seemed to be missing. In addition, the brake controller box that is screwed to the side of the tongue was ripped off its screws as if something hit it. The only thing that went right with this transaction is the weld has held up thus far. So, in addition to overpaying, I now have a new lock to buy and a new tongue jack to purchase, thanks!
